LAURENT MEDELGI

Laurent Medelgi was born and raised in Paris where he picked up the guitar at age 12. He moved to NYC in the Fall of 93. After studying with Mike Stern and Wayne Krantz, he formed his own jazz projects and released his Debut Album in 2002 on the British Label String Jazz « Circles, Live @ 55 Bar ». Following up with Diverses - 10 piece band with horns and strings – and Live in the Village, Live at Smalls. He forms the Medeljazz Quartet in Paris France and releases Yesternow, Jacaranda Jazz and the latest record Versature which gets airplay in over 100 U.S. Radio Stations, and on France Musique, and also ranks #1 on To Music Japan.

In New York he has performed at such prestigious clubs as The Blue Note, Birdland, Smalls to name a few and across Europe in Festivals and clubs alike. Medelgi recently completed his first tour in China followed by a new release Live in Shanghai, recorded live at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Shanghai.
